From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
